Benefits and Challenges of Transnational Education: Reflections From a Sino-British Joint Venture University

Since the turn of 21 st Century, higher education sector has witnessed a proliferation transnational arrangements, including joint venture universities. Concurrently, there been surge in published literature on education. While current explores various issues with respect to regulation, management, quality assurance, and impact, is deficit lived accounts benefits challenges from teacher perspectives pedagogic tools used deal language learning culture differences settings. Based author’s own experience Sino-British university China, this paper draws in-class observations, reviews seminar recordings, informal conversations students, anecdotal reflections highlight potential using student audio podcasts mitigate oral reticence increase interactions lectures seminars.
